Find exposed card data and secrets before attackers do.

Authorised, agentless scans of Linux and Windows servers that discover card data, credentials, exposed keys, expired certificates and configuration issues. The scanner is signed, and raw secrets are never stored, logged or shown.

Overview

What Exposure Assessment does

Exposure Assessment discovers sensitive data and security exposures on your assets without installing an agent. It covers payment card data in PCI scope, credentials, exposed cryptographic keys, expired certificates and configuration issues. Scans run only with a valid authorisation for the target, on demand or on a schedule, using profiles you define. A PCI DSS view, baselines and change tracking show what is new since the last scan.

The scanner is signed and its signature and checksum are verified before every run, and a mismatch stops the scan. Raw card numbers, passwords, tokens and private keys are never stored, logged or shown, only masked values and keyed fingerprints. Exposures can become findings, findings can become risks, and exposures link to the controls they relate to.

Capabilities

Key capabilities

01

Sensitive-data discovery

Card data, credentials, cryptographic keys and expired certificates.

02

Linux & Windows, agentless

Linux and Windows servers are scanned without installing an agent.

03

Authorisation first

A scan runs only with a valid authorisation for the target.

04

Signed scanner

Signature and checksum verified before every run.

05

No raw secrets

Only masked values and fingerprints are ever kept.

06

Baselines & changes

Track new and resolved exposures; PCI DSS view and reports.

Benefits

The business case.

Efficiency, multi-framework alignment, reduced complexity and streamlined processes: what Exposure Assessment changes for your programme.

Risk reduction
Scope reduced

Unknown card data found

Discovering stray card data shrinks PCI scope and breach impact.

Achieving compliance
PCI DSS 3 & 12.5.2

Scope confirmation evidence

Documented discovery supports annual PCI scope confirmation.

Potential savings
>70%

Less manual discovery

Scheduled scans replace ad-hoc greps and spreadsheets.

Reduced complexity
No agents

Nothing to deploy

Agentless scanning avoids endpoint software rollouts.

Efficiency figures compare the effort of each workflow cycle in RiskVantis with the same work done manually or in a traditional GRC tool. Your result depends on your starting point; we will model it with you in a demo.

How it works

From setup to outcome.

Authorise

Record who approved scanning which targets.

Scan

Run a profile on demand or on schedule.

Review exposures

Masked results, baselines and changes.

Remediate

Create findings, link controls and track to closure.

Framework alignment

Supports your obligations.

Exposure Assessment contributes evidence and coverage to these frameworks and regulations.

FAQ

Common questions.

Does RiskVantis store the card numbers or passwords it finds?

No. Only masked values and keyed fingerprints are kept, and nothing raw is ever stored, logged or returned.

Can anyone start a scan?

A scan runs only with a valid authorisation for its target.

What if the scanner has been tampered with?

Its signature and checksum are verified before every run, and any mismatch stops the scan.
