Compliance posture you can explain, line by line.

Compliance status in RiskVantis is calculated, never typed in. Every requirement, in every organisation, shows its status, why it has that status and what would change it, across the whole organisation hierarchy.

Overview

What Enterprise Compliance Posture does

Organisations form a hierarchy, so a grant for a parent covers its subsidiaries. A requirement's status in an organisation is the worst status of the control implementations that satisfy it, directly or through the Secure Controls Framework crosswalk. Click any requirement to see why. A requirement with no control is shown as a gap, never as Not Applicable, and a report never claims compliance while anything applicable is unassessed, stale or failing. Historical posture can be shown as of any date, and exports are audited.

Applicability is governed. An applicability profile, which records your industries, geographies, data types, payments, cloud and AI use, suggests which frameworks and requirements apply, always with reasons, and an Admin or CISO decides. Not Applicable needs a rationale and CISO approval. Compliance scopes narrow an organisation to specific assets, vendors, processes and services. Regulatory and framework changes become change events with a computed impact, which a person confirms or dismisses, and a regulatory interpretation needs a CISO.

FAQ

Common questions.

Can someone mark a control compliant by hand?

No. Status is derived from test results and their age, evidence requirements, approved exceptions and applicability, and it is explained.

How is Not Applicable decided?

It needs a rationale and approval by a CISO of that organisation who didn't propose it. A requirement with no decision is Unknown, never assumed Not Applicable.

Do regulatory changes alter our controls automatically?

No. A change event computes its impact and a person confirms or dismisses it. Confirming can create review tasks and re-evaluation.
