Test control design before the auditor does.

Model your processes, test each control's design against the risks it should address, and let AI suggest the risks and the test procedure. Only the gaps you approve become findings.

Overview

What Design Effectiveness Testing does

Design Effectiveness Testing combines a process flow editor for steps and decision points, the Control Register and the test itself. Select a process and a control and AI suggests the relevant risks and a test procedure, or you can write or upload your own.

Each test records its conclusion, rationale, gaps and recommendation, with evidence. You approve or reject each gap, and only approved gaps become draft findings. Tests can be submitted to the control's Control Design Approver.

Benefits

The business case.

Efficiency, multi-framework alignment, reduced complexity and streamlined processes: what Design Effectiveness Testing changes for your programme.

Potential savings
>70%

Less test preparation

AI-suggested risks and procedures shorten test design.

Achieving compliance
SOX / ITGC-style testing

Documented design assessment

Supports internal control testing and ISO 27001 9.2 audits.

Risk reduction
Gaps become action

No lost test results

Approved gaps enter remediation immediately.

Streamlined processes
Process → control → test

One connected workflow

No separate testing spreadsheets.

Efficiency figures compare the effort of each workflow cycle in RiskVantis with the same work done manually or in a traditional GRC tool. Your result depends on your starting point; we will model it with you in a demo.

How it works
